Bulletin of the Dipterists Forum

The Bulletin is the main means of communication with Forum members; it contains news of Diptera-related events and discoveries with reports of meetings and significant finds. It is issued twice a year, together with Newsletters from Recording Schemes when available.

To receive the Bulletin, you need to join Dipterists Forum.

Re: Bulletin of the Dipterists Forum

Bulletin #65 is currently being prepared.
The deadline date for articles has passed but I would be pleased to receive articles for the next one.
There are currently slight improvements in presentation which will be of significance to those authoring articles. Because the intention is to produce both a black and white printed version and a coloured pdf version (through this website), it is now possible to incorporate good quality coloured illustrations into articles.
Please consider such illustrations as you hunt around during the forthcoming season, even a simple habitat photograph makes an article much more visually interesting.

Re: Bulletin of the Dipterists Forum

Where are the online versions of the various newsletters? I can't find them, but I know that I have previously downloaded them. Have they been taken down?

The request to the administrator has been made, so I guess we are just waiting for Stuart to have the time to sort it.  Patience, folks, please.

Re: Bulletin of the Dipterists Forum

Hi Anthony
You will need to upgrade to Membership of the Dipterists Forum (basic rate only 6 yearly) to access Stuart's key and other unpublished material on this website.  Basic membership also entitles you to two copies of the Bulletin newsletter a year.  It is well worth it.  See the welcome page for how to join the Forum.

Re: Bulletin of the Dipterists Forum

I'm already a member of the Forum, hence my ability to log on to post these messages.  I receive the Bulletin -  well worth it, I agree - and pay my 12 per annum or whatever it is quite happily for the Bulletin and the DD. Hence my puzzlement.

Re: Bulletin of the Dipterists Forum

Sorry, Anthony.  I just saw your status above as Registered User.  Obviously you are one who needs his access status raised by the webmaster to 'DF Member' on this website.  You have slipped through the net and I will see if we can rectify this as soon as possible.

Fine - so why am I told, when I follow this URL:

Bad request. The link you followed is incorrect or outdated...?

This is getting beyond a joke.

Like you I found that the link was incorrect, until I logged in when the link then worked.
As publications are for members only you must remember to log in.
I hope that this information enables you to get to the key
Best wishes,

Hi Anthony,

I will contact Stuart Ball when he returns to the UK and try to get things sorted, ( he is in Serbia at the moment ).
Cheers, Mick

Re: Bulletin of the Dipterists Forum

Thanks, Mick.   Nothing seems to work at this end.  I'm certainly a Forum member - have been for decades - and am clearly logged on, but then - no dice; although I can access and download things like the Syrphid  Newsletter posted by Darwyn.

Hi Anthony,

I should add, that Stuart is attending the 5th International Hoverfly Workshop, which is due to end today! So, hopefully a cure will soon be
at hand!
Cheers, Mick

Re: Bulletin of the Dipterists Forum

Stuart,
As you'll see from recent posts I've been having problems being acknowledged by the system as a 'member' even after I successfully log on. The problem first arose when I wanted to access your Scathophagid key, but that's now been sent to me by another member.  But could you simply make sure there are no incompatibilities remaining in the website so far as my access in concerned.

Re: Bulletin of the Dipterists Forum

Hi Stuart,
I'm also unable to access things, eg: http://www.dipteristsforum.org.uk/f30-D … letin.html

Probably this is because I'm merely "registered" not logged as a DF member.

Please could you check my account.

Malcolm
