Please note the atlas and key to species of cranefly found in Shropshire (VC40) is now available from FSC Publications. An early bird offer is in place until the end of October.
Though obviously designed for Shropshire it should be of use to those interested in craneflies elsewhere and has over 500 figs illustrating wing venation and other hopefully useful identification features, habitat associations, etc

Received my copy this morning.
Looks to be very useful.
Hoping that as many Shropshire flies as possible are also found in Oxfordshire.
But even if I get into the right group/subgroup then it will be useful.

Hello Brian,
Hope it turns out to be useful. I imagine Shropshire has most of what Oxfordshire, though I think you might have a tiger cranefly we don't and probably a Ctenophora. Hope the book fills the gap until British Craneflies is published, whenever that might be.
All the best. Cheers Pete
