Unknown structure on tarsi of Pegomya rufina females

The following link should lead you to information and a photomicrograph.  I hope to use my recent interest in taking photos through the microscope to draw attention to useful characters in Anthomyiidae species. This character can be seen under a stereo microscope, and it makes the identification of one Pegomya female fairly easy.

The image is exceptionally good Michael. There is a whole new world of identification resources beginning to develop here.
