 +Small (2.5-4 mm), stout, dark flies with grey pruinosity, head partially dull yellow and lustrous silvery grey; antennae and legs largely yellow. Arista short to medium plumose; ocelli present; Ocellar bristles present, Postvertical bristles converging; 2 pairs of frontal bristles, the outer pair curving forward, the inner pair backward; interfrontal bristles absent; vibrissae present. Wing with various patterns of dark markings, in some cases clear, but cell c always darkened; costa with both humeral and subcostal breaks and with several small spines among the customary setulae; vein Sc incomplete; crossvein BM-Cu present; cell cup closed. Tibiae with dorsal preapical bristle.
