Tipulidae?

Hi all,

Might be a long shot, but I was wondering whether it would be possible to get any further than Tipulidae with this photo? Taken in Dumfries, Scotland. I'm afraid this is the only photo I have and as such there are no close-ups. Any advances on "Tipulidae" much appreciated!

Re: Tipulidae?

I reckon it's a female Tipula paludosa.

Re: Tipulidae?

Yes.  It is unmistakeable with the brown front edge and the abdomen much longer than the wings.
