Anyone care to try this http://photoid.naturalvision.de/ there's been good reports of it in respect of butterflies.

Yeah, it's a very interesting system with some potential but it tends to work best where the subject is fairly flat (butterflies) or a distinct shape (birds) and not "diffuse" (plants) and it takes a lot of photos of each species to teach the AI engine. The developer is very open to contact and chatting with experts and has been talking on the NFBR Facebook group about it.
