Fly from a Bedfordshire Greenhouse

I have had these images waiting identification for some while as they were taken on 2 March 2012 of a fly species that I caught on that date in our greenhouse in Clifton, Beds. Any suggestions as to identification would be greatly appreciated as always.

Many thanks

Alan

Re: Fly from a Bedfordshire Greenhouse

Looks like a Phaonia, possibly P. rufiventris.

Re: Fly from a Bedfordshire Greenhouse

Many thanks indeed John. Perhaps Stephane might be able to firm up on this?
