So it's Scaptia (Plinthina) beyonceae . Is the official common name 'Golden booty horsefly or 'Gold Bum fly'I wonder? I'm busy thinking up common names for some of my favourite flies, so this is all very interesting!

What a privilege! a nice looking fly too and certainly important for the pollination of our wild flowers- more common names needed- a competition!
