Hello again
Also looking for any distribution info on Miltogramma punctata (Dip. Sarcophagidae). NBN shows a handfull of records (4 x 10km sq's) but the species is no doubt under represented.
This one from 'waved' heathland on Isles of Scilly (VC1), SV942158, 07.vii.2008 (Det: G.A.Collins)
Apparently cleptoparasitic upon a wide range of ground nesting aculeate hymenoptera (both wasps and bees). Eclectic culinary tastes it would seem... (unless it just eats the grubs?)
Cheers

Hi Scotty
Nothing to do with Diptera, but probably still of interest to DF members?
There is a feature on the BBC web site about the Formica rufibarbis you collected on Scilly.

Thanks Mark
Had not seen this one. Good to see the journalistic attention to detail (or lack of) prevails...
