Hi
I have posted this question once before but being new to the site I got it embroiled in another thread and it was, perhaps, overlooked.
I recently found both male and female Urophora solstitialis on Carduus nutans in VC17 at a chalk downland site.
From what I have read about this RDB3 species the records are a little sporadic. Would you be able to tell me when it was last recorded in VC17 (Surrey)?
I'll be sending records in at some point - currently putting everything into mapmate.
Regards

Hi Scott,
I have just looked up Urophora solstitialis in the latest UK Tephritidae,
Atlas that I have ( The Dipterists Forum Spring 2004 Bulletin No 57 )
and there appears to be only one record for Surrey VC17.
Laurence Clemons will of course be in a position to comment further,
Cheers, Mick

Blimey, I thought it was a good find but suprised that there is only 1 record from such a well worked county. Thanks Mick.
I have retained vouchers in case anyone wants to double check, female ovipositor hoiked out.
