Two possible tachinids

I saw these two rather bristly flies at our site in Nailsea, North Somerset (ST472708) and I am wondering if they are Tachinids. We have Tachina fera around, but fly A (July 26, 2010) seems smaller – Gonia divisa possibly? Could fly B (Aug 16, 2010) be a member of the Dexia genus?

Re: Two possible tachinids

I tentaively suggest that A could be Nowickia ferox (I can't see the facial bristles characteristic of Gonia), and B could be Mintho rufiventris.

Re: Two possible tachinids

Thank you. I have looked up Nowickia ferox and Mintho rufiventris on the Web and your suggestions are very consistent with images there. Pity I didn’t get a full top surface view of A to see if the banding pattern was that of N. ferox .
