Alexandra Palace BioBlitz

Dear Dipterists

As some of you may know there will be a BioBlitz on 5th June at Alexandra Palace in North London, and it would be great to get some Dipterists involved.

The NHM and BBC will be out in force, please come along and help out if you can.  Here's the official blurb -

'Help record the wildlife of Alexandra Palace Park.

As part of the Springwatch Festival 'Wild Day Out' on Saturday 5th June, the Natural History Museum and OPAL are coordinating a BioBlitz in Alexandra Palace Park. This is a race against the clock to spot as many different species as possible in 24 hours (running Friday evening-Saturday evening). We hope that it will both record some interesting wildlife and be a fun social occasion for those taking part. The records gathered will be made available to appropriate groups and feed into site management practices.

If you'd be interested in lending your expertise to help survey the Park's wildlife, or would like to find out more, please contact John Tweddle (j.tweddle@nhm.ac.uk). Refreshments will be provided and we can reimburse any travel expenses.'

Rumour has it that the refreshments will include ice-cream.  Let me or John Tweddle know if you want any more information, hope to see some of you there!
