3mm long from my greenhouse today. I know a definate ID is impossible from a photo but I wondered if it could be got to genus level. I still have it if that's any use.
Thanks.

Once again I'm having problems uploading photos. Can't understand why -they are < 200 KB each

This is a probably a species of Brevicornu (if it has irregularly arranged short bristles on the thorax as appears possible although not very clear), otherwise an Allodia sp. Darker than usual for Brevicornu but this may be the case in the winter. It is a male but the resolution isn't good enough to see the structure of the genitalia. Do you have the specimen for checking?

Thanks Peter. looking at it under the microscope there appear to be very short adpressed hairs/bristles on the thorax. I can't really get a photo good enough to show them. This is about the best I can do. [ sorry about all the debris it seems to have picked up ].

Still no luck. By the way I'm not previewing it.
